By streaming with the Flatcast application, the DJ builds with his visitors an chain. This chain is connected with nodes, wich acts as an share system. - One user gives the stream to the next one. Here Flatcast manage this nodes and sort out good nodes from "bad" ones. When Flatcast detect an good node, they connect next incoming users to this --Like an operator.
Using this awesome way of streaming, an DJ can reach thousands of users without to have an expensive server or an highspeed connection. And all this for free ! Other systems like Shoutcast, Icecast are limited and do cost a few bucks.

Flatcast funktioniert so ähnlich, wobei der sendende DJ mit seinen Hörern eine Kette bildet. Hier versucht Flatcast Hörer zu rekrutieren, die dann als "weiter-Sender" den Stream an nachfolgende Hörer weiterleiten. Es bildet sich eine Stream-Kette. Dadurch entsteht keine Serverlast, wie z.B. bei Shoutcast, Icecast etc. Somit ist es also auch mit einer gewöhnlichen Internetleitung möglich tausende Hörer mit Musik zu versorgen. Und das alles völlig kostenlos* ! (Vorausgesetzt man hat eine Flatrate)
* Kostenlos heisst aber nicht, dass keine Medien-Gebühren anfallen, wie z.B. in Deutschland GEMA & GVL !
